CyberKnife Robotic Radiosurgery

The CyberKnife System is the world’s first radiosurgery system with a Robotic Delivery System (Linear Accelerator), remote control device, X-ray Imaging System, Image Sensor, the RoboCouch Patient Positioning System and the RPM Gating System. The CyberKnife System is an assembly of existing state-of-the-art technologies used to remove malignant tumors in the body. Radiosurgery (which is non-invasive, without pain or bleeding), can replace existing surgeries such as those used for treatment of recurring cancer after radiotherapy and other treatments, and can control pain and bleeding due to cancer.

  • The CyberKnife System is a world-class stereotactic radiation surgical system which directs radiation to an exact location.
  • An image-guidance system mounted on the CyberKnife System checks in real time whether high doses of radiation are hitting a malignant tumor correctly.
  • Potential treatments include cancers in the brain, head, and neck, as well as the spine, lung, liver, pancreas and prostate.
  • The difficulties that patients undergo from normal treatment are minimized, giving them a better quality of life.
